Reasons I'm excited to be Mrs. Betz:
1. When on vacation we can say, "All Betz are off."
2. I'm moving up in the alphabet role call while still inheriting the coolest letter of the alphabet, Z. I mean, look at it in cursive:

3. I don't have to spell my name phonetically. It's done for me. No more being Ms. Vight-Vite-Bite-Viet to help them get it right.
4. We'll be equally excited to check the mail.
5. We'll be associated with wind energy. (For real!)
6. We could try to trace ourselves back to a connection with a Washington winery.
7. Odds are good that our children will be:
a. as German as I am
b. as brown eyed-and-haired as we are
c. skinny with huge heads and dimples (just kidding, Joe :})
8. I don't have to count any hire when I forget how many letters are in my name. (18)
Then there happen be the reasons like I have him to take care of and be taken care of by; I have his shoulder to fall asleep on while watching the Office; I have his faith in my writing; I have his faith in our successes, his willingness to travel, his willingness to settle down; I get to live with his patience; he doesn't get annoyed when I cry; he forgives my snoring.
You know. Those small things that make me love him.
